Badly stained limestone patio floor requires restoration.

The project:

These homeowners in Rancho Santa Fe loved their outdoor space but after decades of use, their patio was in need of an upgrade, so they decided to buy new patio furniture. While removing the old furniture, planters and accessories, they saw that over time, their limestone patio floor had become dirty and heavily stained. Realizing they needed professional help, they turned to the internet. After seeing Excel Stone and Tile Care’s excellent ratings on Google and Facebook, plus their fantastic reviews, they gave Excel Stone and Tile Care a call. Excel went to the project and gave the homeowners’ a free estimate which they accepted and restoration of the limestone patio was scheduled.

Our Process:

We removed the remaining patio furniture and accessories, using sliders to help protect against further damage. After the patio was cleared out, we honed the patio floor to loosen and lift deeply embedded stains and dirt.  Then we applied a stone safe cleaner to attack the remaining dirt and stains. After the floor was completely clean, we honed again with a series of fine grit diamond pads to lightly polish and achieve a soft, smooth, polished finish.  The last step was to apply an impregnating sealer to help protect the floor from future staining.

The homeowners were very happy with the outcome, commenting that now their new patio furniture wouldn’t be overshadowed by a dirty, stained floor. Before we left, we gave the homeowners our cleaning and care instructions guide to help them keep their limestone looking its best.
