Travertine honed, polished, and sealed

Problem

The travertine entrance to a commercial building located in San Marcos, CA had stains from hard water mineral deposits and rust. In addition, the surface was slippery when wet. Our client’s highest concern was to prevent a slip and fall accident and get the entryway looking clean, professional, and welcoming once again.

Solution

We honed (a wet sanding process) the travertine to remove a thin upper layer of the stone, revealing the brand new stone underneath. With the stains erased, we proceeded to polish the honed travertine to a beautiful satin, slip-resistant finish. We also applied a premium impregnating sealer to inhibit any future staining of the stone.
